Generation Agile
Sometimes I stumble upon texts which have a profound resonance with me. Like some people describe it with the bible or other holy texts, their value lies in being so profoundly true, that they provide new insights every time you read them.
Albeit not exactly a revelation, the Agile Manifesto had those hefty feeling of wise words compiled into a simple text. In this special case it brought to fruition the thought of the Generation Agile. There is much more to digital natives then their tendency to use new ways of MCC (massive collaborative communication). It is a certain way of live, with rapidly changing details in almost every aspect of their lives. The Generation Agile as I perceive it seems the answer to the ever accelerating world around us.
The Generation Agile switches jobs effortlessly and often, becoming their own “Ich AG” in ever increasing numbers and truly only hopping from one project to the next one, throughout their entire carrier. It will be especially interesting to watch how they handle this, once the Generation Agile becomes a generation of parents. With similar ease they switch methods of communication, travel between physical and virtual destinations and maintain relations with various tools.
In my opinion, the most important aspect of the Generation Agile is their willingness to uphold such concepts as “ ”do no evil” (the Google credo), ”seek quality” and “sustainability” in what they are doing, despite the frantic pace of their lives.
